RE: How does everyone feel about our Admin now?
Today's news doesn't change how I view our Admin. They put us in the best position we've ever been in with regards to expansion. Its clear to anyone looking that the current leadership is head and shoulders above their predecessors.
Anyone using the big 12 expansion miss as a bench mark for the President and AD's competency must have some agenda to push.

Never cared about that (for my donation level i would wager I called UofM less times than 99% of donors in that level)-I do care about Tigers sports-we are in dire straits financially now with athletic income. You can try to ignore that all you want but BB will NOT be able to subsidize FB anymore (at least for a good while).

Maybe TSF donations would be higher if people donated dollars and didn't expect credit for in kind donations.
We overpaid Tubby is what Shaka has to do with it-who is worth more?

Failed to get into big 12 conference.
Why don't you donate a 100 mil ; then you can call all the shots. This by far the best admin the University has ever assembled. Only the C.C. Humphreys admin came close. My thanks and gratitude goes out to all our supporters, Mr. Smith, Mr. Graf and all the others who step up to support the University Memphis with their time and money.

I'm grateful for Mr. Smith, Mr. Graf and others; they weren't involved in day to day operations-they have a company to run-don't think otherwise. This peppet stuff is ridiculous. The buck stops with Bowen and Rudd who put all their eggs in one basket and downgraded our prized sport-basketball. Football could have got here but wasn't yet.

Anyone who knows anything about CBB knows we only have 2-3 High D1 players on our short roster-i will give him a chance but it don't look good-CBB writers/analysts agree

Who left him in place to do that (while raking in an incredible $15-20M a year BB revenue)? Probably less than 10 schools were matching that.

I'm not the only one who thinks this way:
Per Commercial Appeal:
The report has not been confirmed by The Commercial Appeal, which received a copy of the nondisclosure agreement after a public-records request. If the report is accurate, it would be a major setback for the U of M and for Rudd, who made a Power 5 conference berth a priority of his presidency.
With the support of FedEx, a rising football program, and multimillion-dollar upgrades to facilities, Memphis was seen as a strong contender, particularly if the Big 12 added four rather than two schools.

"If accurate" Caulkins and all of the local media are going off of McMurphy. It has become a giant echo chamber with no added outside information.

That article doesnt disprove the argument this administration is an improvement. Those that argue that it is an improvement arent contending that this decision was a success. No, every single one would acknowledge it is a setback.
And the argument would be that, this admin is still an improvememt, even with the setback. To say otherwise seems to suggest the minimum threshold for improvement over predecessors is admission to a p5, which seems to mistake the level of the preceding admin to just below admission
There is a gap (I would describe it a chasm) between the prior admin and getting into a P5 conference. Right now, this admin is between those two points. An improvement over predecessors, not immune from setbacks.
Go Tigers, Go Memphis, eff the NFL and Big 12

Very well said. However, I would suggest that if what is said is true about us not being in the top 12, that meal can be placed directly on past administrations for not nutting up and being PRO-MEMPHIS at all costs. Seems it has worked in the last few years..

I agree that they didnt move the school as far forward as they could, making that gap bigger. That was an unfortunate time in our community. The admin of both the school and the city were mediocre. We collectively have come a long way.
