We have no choice but to keep going forward. We can't default this time to typical Memphis defeatism, despite the fact that we have been kicked in the teeth in more ways than we can count so many times.

But I do think Bowen and his handlers had better figure out a way to at least talk to Tiger Nation and say something about this whole fiasco. Silence is poison when it comes to Memphians who don't like BS. He should ask the University's attorney just exactly what he CAN say. Thank goodness Sherry is gone.....

I probably jinxed us by making fun of UT last night. Go to hell, Ole Miss!

And now I have to anticipate having one of two clowns for President.

Many good things have happened around campus and for our athletic program over the last 10 years or so. I've witnessed the change. For a long time we settled for status quo. Unfortunately it took so long to get the ball rolling, but I'm proud of what's been accomplished recently. We can't let this hold us down. Like Dr. Rudd stated, we still have big money coming our way for renovations, etc. Just gotta keep going and continue to build upon what we started.

If you haven't been on campus or around the U of M in the last six months, you will be absolutely shocked at the buildings that are going up. The Highland area is actually starting to look like a college town. That is why this setback hurts so bad. But we are making tremendous progress.

Go out tomorrow and do what Coach asked us to do last night ~ Be louder than you ever have and support our team. They have worked so hard to get ready for tomorrow, and they are disciplined, ready, and excited. They deserve our support, Big 12 be damned.

Would have been nice to see something along the lines of, 'we have been and will continue to pursue inclusion into a Power 5 Conference" maybe hinting that there is another opportunity.

That release sounds like the one given by the losing coach.

Well, we are the losing team apparently, so the tone is correct.

I got no problem with the statement, but the Big 12 can piss off. Not even that we don't get in (defensible), but how public and stupid this process is.

If it was UC/UH/BYU/UCF, we dust ourselves off, respect the chosen and move on.

But this prolonged process is crap. Other conferences move quickly and confidently. This is bunk.

Other conferences don't have the Longhorns' butt to kiss.

They're playing for the city man, support the kids who can help give catharsis to your pain if you help them feel it. And they can share it with SEMO. "Yo, Seems, see that 40K mob, it's not your fault but they wanted us to share something with you." *BOOM* "You alright? Nothing personal. Lemme help you dust it off. Oh yeah..." *BOOM* And so forth...

Well this sucks, no doubt about it. I felt like we had a 60/40 shot. Whether academics, money, or demographics (which my gut feels) - this is not good. Will most certainly impact recruiting short-term, and budgets long-term.

Can't really blame anyone. It is what it is. I feel the current admin, boosters and movement have done most things right. It just wasn't what the dysfunctional B12 wanted.

But to say we're not even in the list of 8-12 finalists? That's just bizarre.

Over? OVER?
Nothing's over until WE say it is!!!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Hell no, and it ain't over now!

(Rest in peace John Belushi)

Maybe, just maybe, the admins are still quiet because there are other offers being discussed.

Yes, I'm a hopeful optimist.
:-D
