Football Questions, Game #1
Just for kicks....
Three questions...

What are you hoping to see tomorrow in terms of team performance?

What would really impress you?

What's the worst case scenario you could see?

RE: Football Questions, Game #1
1. I like to see an offense that is consistent in the run game avoid turnovers and penalities. On defense I would like us to get pressure on the QB, SURE TACKLING. No special team miscues.

2. A shutout by the defense. Less than 50 yard in penalities.

3. Injuries! Missed extra points and field goals.

A consistent ball control offense with the run setting up the pass and solid DL play leading the defense.

Vann running for more than 100 yards.

A narrow, contested win by say 7 points or less.

1. A dominant performance. Not like the Morgan State debacle.

2. Not much. I am mindful that Mississippi Valley State is an inferior opponent.

3. If they do not put them away early and allow them to hang around and only win by 10 or less.

1. Dominance on both sides of the ball, and at each position. I won't put a number for margin of victory, but this should not be a close game.

2. Significant contributions from the WRs, particularly the JUCOs. Say more than 6 receptions. This would also require competency from Porter, which would be pleasing.

3. A game in which we have to squeak out a W. Porter comes out and looks completely lost. Or we suffer injuries at key positions.

1. Hope to see the young guys in the secondary show promise. Solid tackling and no big plans against our D. Offensively the O-line showing experience and helping the run game rush for 200+

2. Porter showing poise, no turnovers. If we get to see Pensyl for the second half.

3. Anything closer than 21 points.

1. Domination in the trenches. No turnovers. Two takeaways.

2. 250 rushing yards for EMU. <100 rushing yards for mvsu.

3. A loss.

1) I want to see a clean game with strong performances by both lines, good rushing attack, and reasons for optimism by the WRs

2) A shutout with at least one pick-six or fumble recovery for TD

3) Close game with injuries to key personnel

I hope the players are taking our opponent more seriously than most posters. If they aren't we could lose.

1.) Domination in every phase of the game.
2.) If Poter looks like an all-MAC QB, that would blow my mind.
3.) Close game and/or loss, with the D giving up easy yards, and the O looking like the Bell days.

Bell had an impressive debut with Ferris last night. Decent passing numbers and over 100 yards on the ground including a 73 yard TD run. He might just run for 1000 yards this year. Not that many D2 defenses will be able to keep up with him.
