FIU attendance vs Indiana??
Sorry, not intended to be smack but what the #@%$ was up with y'all's attendance??? Opening season game, at home vs a Big10 school, ESPN is in town...attendance had to be about 10k. That's unreal...looked like Indiana had about 2-3k. How can that happen?

FAU will have a lot more than that on Saturday.

This is why I hate when people compare FAU and FIU the schools couldn't be more different.
FIU I nothing more than years 3 and 4 for Miami Dade CC.

FAU doesn blow anyone away with attendance but I promise we will have 3-4K students Saturday.

Should have taken none of the above. 12 would be fine, once UAB comes back that is.

Hey, UAB had over 4,000 for an intersquad scrimmage Monday night. And we charged $5 a pop.

WKU had 20,000+....you must not have seen after stadium filled in after kick off. Not exactly the same. And you can bet a Thursday night home game against a B10 team would have been a sell out.

New side was packed and the berm was packed ...as Western fans know this seating (holds 2500) is not counted in the total number of seats for Western. Maybe 1000 other fans watching from the concourse. I know it was wall to wall people when I had to almost push my way through (middle of 1st qt) to take this picture. My seats are on the 50 if I had to bet I would take the over on 700+ in that area (standing)

This section is not counted in the 22k total attendance number for the Houch

So if you put those people in the empty seats shown and the people standing in the concourse...I would be shocked if there wasn't between 20-21k

Agree with you owlcountry40, the two schools are very different. FIU students learnt how to write complete sentences.

RE: FIU attendance vs Indiana??
I wont ever talk attendance smack cause I dont have a leg to stand on. I do think that FAU has better attendance then FIU due to students being much more involved. That being said a Thursday night game is NEVER well attended at the G5 level IMHO. People have jobs and lives that make a weekday hard to attend.

We had a lot of people leave after it got to 30 pt lead. I understand with kids etc but the crowd was better than I expected. It took 15 min for it to fill in. But it did.

Attendance was bad and unfortunately for us panther fans this was not a surprise. Last year donations to athletics hit an all time low. Fans have lost faith in Coach Turner and his staff. AD Garcia contract is up and still no word from the President about renewal or replacement.

Garcia only does one thing well. Schedule good teams for your home games. I'm amazed at the teams he's been able to get to come to FIU. That is the ONLY thing I am jealous of at FIU athletics.

You guys played well for most of the game, just when you had to press at the end is when it fell apart.
