Weird game. Rice up at the end of the 1Q 22-14. Feels like the lead should be bigger though. We had a stretch of a few minutes during which we either turned it over against their press or missed a wide open 3.

Rice leads 46-28 at the half. Think that's a pretty fair reflection of the game. Been solid on both ends.

Missed it live but Adams hit a ridiculous turnaround half court heave to beat the shot clock at one point. Ridiculous shot. Rice up 60-41. In control but we've taken our foot off the pedal a bit.

75-50 with 4 minutes left. The starters (save for Klaczek) have been out since the start of the 4Q. Easy wins, but a ton (22) of turnovers.

84-56 final. Ennis, Hayes, Jazzy, Maya, Adams all in double figures as Rice shot 46% from the field and made 18-21 (89%) free throws. Fisher with 9 rebounds in just 18 minutes.

Impressive shot to be sure but shouldn’t it have been a back court violation?

I like watching Adams play. If she can develop a consistent shot, she can be really good.

I think she is the best athlete on the team. At the men’s home game on Thursday, I told Jim Bevan about her and told him he needed to talk to her to see if she had any interest in throwing the discus.

Okay win but I wish we drive to the basket more instead of shooting 3s so much.

Yeah, she's a gifted athlete. Really good rebounder and active on the defensive end. Was basically unplayable last year and took a massive leap, so pretty clear her development won't be linear.

Stayed in the frontcourt, that was the attack line of the volleyball court that she crossed over.

Gonzaga just beat number three Stanford by almost 20 points.

(Gonzaga is Rice’s next opponent - next Saturday at home at 2).

Gonzaga has a big home advantage and this was their 24th straight home win.

They’re beatable on the road (2-1) and on neutral courts (2-1 at a tournament in Katy last month).

They beat Alabama (and Liberty) but lost to Louisville in the Katy tournament.

Let’s see if we can level their Houston Metro record for the year to 2-2.
