RE: MACTION WEEK 1
I'll be watching the CMU game tonight and looking for a few things. I know Presby isn't a great measuring stick, but hey...football is back and I'm excited.

Will CMU's O-line be any improved? That group wasn't great last year and they graduated their two best players. They have decent size, but lack athleticism. Definitely a group to keep an eye on.

Also, how improved will CMU's RBs be? Their best rusher, Ross, went down with a season-ending injury in camp. Can Spaulding be their savior or is CMU doomed to another year of "throw the ball, throw it a lot, and hope for the best"? Their RB roster is full of mediocre talent, and if they can't run against a very undersized Presbyterian defense it will be a long season for them.

RE: MACTION WEEK 1
Buffalo loses to Albany 22-16.

Albany's first ever win over an FBS team. Grant Rohach, the QB transfer from Iowa State, got the nod to start the game for UB. He started very shaky, going 3 for 9 with 2 INTs. In came true freshman QB Tyree Jackson (From Muskegon...6'7" and athletic!) who proved to be a playmaker, in both good and bad ways. Too many rookie mistakes. UB looks to be continuing their rebuild this year.

Ball State beats Georgia State 31-21

Ball State's passing game was pathetic, but their running game dominated the day (325 yards). Nice first win for coach Neu.

Eastern Michigan beats Mississippi Valley State 61-14

MVSU is ranked third to last out of all D1 programs on the Sagarin rankings. It doesn't get much worse than that. Still nice to see EMU get a solid win though.

Toledo currently beating Arkansas State 21-3 at halftime. Toledo's defense looks very good, and considering that was their biggest question mark going into the year...they might be the team to beat in the MAC.

Watched the Army Temple game at a bar in West Point (actually Highland Falls) with my son. Was cool sitting with him, in his whites over greys, watching West Point win a game. He knows many of the Army players, and folks have some optimism this year for the season. My son is predicting that this will be the year they end the streak and beat Navy. Hope so. Would be cool if his first year here we beat Navy.

RE: MACTION WEEK 1
Not completely surprising. Northern Iowa has now beaten them three times last decade.

Northern gives I-State fits same way Cyclones do to Iowa.

Toledo may be looking pretty good to Campbell by end of November.

Matt got a million reasons $$$ why ISU will be looking better than Toledo in November.
