College Football Week 1
Well it's finally here.

Not a lot starting it off on Thursday aside from UC. But there's some interesting ones this weekend: OK @ Houston and ND @ Texas are two I'll probably try to check out.

You know they are going to want this one badly and will pull out all the stops so I could see Houston pulling off a victory. But it's so hard to know anything since nobody has played. Big game for Charlie Strong's future but Texas is going to have to prove themselves before I pick them to win a big game so I'm going with ND. LSU @ WISC at Lambeau Field should be good.

Thoughts? Anybody want to call a big upset here in week 1?

The upsets I like are Western Michigan and Southern Miss, but if you want me to go out on a bigger limb.... Kansas State over Stanford.

I wonder what would be better for our expansion outlook.
OK beating Houston Badly or Losing to them.

If they lose the conference will not want the added comp vs the patsy win that all newcomers are regarded as.

Butch Jones calls timeout to ice the kicker as the snap goes over the holder's head. Kicker comes back into the game and kicks game winning field goal.

Oh wait that already happened.

I get it, but 99% of coaches call a timeout to ice the kicker in that situation. It was just a complete fluke that happened.

As for the big games this weekend... I like Oklahoma over Houston, ND over Texas, LSU over Wisconsin, and FSU over Ole Mi$$.

? I rarely post about him. Rarely if ever start a topic about him.
The question was "big upset". That would be a big upset. Many would
probably think the spread is 28 to 37.5, it is only 20.5. Appy was
11-2 last year. I won't be surprised if they make a game of it.

Appy State is better than people think. I think this Tennessee team could be really good though.

I personally hope ok kicks the snot out of Houston. Take them down a peg and maybe folks can stop about why they should be included because they had one good year.

Supposed to be the best UT team in a really long time.

Maine 7
UConn 0

Gotta love FCS first quarter leads which usually evaporate like water in the desert.

Did you guys see how many fans S Carolina has at Vanderbilt?!?!?!

On a Thursday night! 7 hours from Columbia...

They were freaking 3-9 last year and there are as many SC fans there as Vandy.

Vanderbilt was the Southern football powerhouse from 1900 to 1925. Then Alabama and Tennessee happened.

Tenn did not look like a top 10 team tonight. Should have beaten Appy by at least 40. Hope BVD did not have a heart attack after this one. Tenn should still benefit from their easy sched.
