I think Tulane is going to surprise some people, if not this year then next.

When you have a moral victory against WF, that's an issue in and of itself. Tulane's D should've made their offense walk home to New Orleans.

UC would have been mauled in that one lol

Living in NC I somewhat follow Wake. They are really, really bad. I don't think hanging tough against them is anything to hang your hat on.

Cincy would've wiped the floor with Wake. They are basically UT Martin

We didn't wipe the floor with UT Martin.....not sure if you saw how fricking bad we are, but its bad.

7-6 will be a major accomplishment

What class was Tulane's QB? I saw the finish only. He looked talented but extremely raw as a passer.

What could have been on that 3rd and 10 sprint pass. Guy was wide open for 30 yards and he flat out missed him.

Solid effort though. Wake is a weird team with a way of dragging you into the muck.

I was hoping Tulane's QB would just hurl 4 straight Hail Mary's in the EZ when you got within range at the end.

It just seemed futile to try and string together a 2 minute drive with the way that offense was executing in the passing game.

He is a redshirt sophomore who had been in for 1 play before tonight. He missed a lot of throws. That long pass in the 4th that went for 40 would have been a TD with an accurate throw. Blocked FG prevented us from going for other FGs late in fourth. Hate to lose a game that could easily have been a W.

I was at the game with my parents and my wife. Tulane, you will give the AAC some headaches this year. I think you've got lots of talent. Wake isn't as awful as advertised, although they are certainly a lower-tier ACC team.

You had a more respectable showing than a couple of our AAC bretheren who WON last night.

And this is why you don't schedule your first game on the road, let alone against a P5. One last parting gift from our ex-AD

This should have been an FCS tune up game. We play Southern at home next week. We will destroy them. If these two games were swapped I think the offense would have been better and we win.

I watched a good bit of the replay of this game just curious what Fritz would do at Tulane and I was surprised to see him try to run many of the plays right out of Georgia Southern's playbook from last year. It was very obvious that Tulane doesn't have the team speed and they haven't developed the run blockers to run this scheme. I have to say I was very surprised that Fritz didn't adjust to Tulane's personnel and run plays more suited to them. I know when he took over the Eagles a big deal was made about his ability to adjust to his players strengths but it looks to me like he's not there yet. Hey good luck on your season and I'm sure given time Fritz will develop Tulane into solid team.

Wake Forest is a P5 in name only. Plenty of teams in the AAC better than WF

I agree... NFL gets 4 preseason games. College does not... which is why I don't see any shame in the first game being FCS. If fact, it's probably why up to 1 FCS game can count for bowl eligibility.

Nice try. Obviously still butt hurt. Georgia southerns playbook is Willis Fritz. The personnel will develop as we go along. The scheme is good. The line has to get on it. The running backs are capable. I see more throwing like the second half. They were well disciplined and actually have a lot of talent. The discipline is what stands out. We were not as disciplined under last coach. This is Willie Fritz(discipline) That will win against southern and ULL. The big test will be Navy and maybe be at 3-1 if our defense stays strong! I'm extremely impressed going 3/7 vs Wake. Fritz even said they were full of guys he couldn't get to Georgia southern because they were ACC. Good luck rest of way.

Actually not upset at all if I were offered a $500k raise I wouldn't have hesitated to take it either especially if I were getting closer to retirement age. I actually was giving an honest assessment and if you go back and look at tape from when Fritz was at Sam Houston you will see what he ran at GS wasn't really the same but a lot of what I saw Tulane run looked the same as what we ran last year. I don't really care either way just trying to make pleasant conversation and perhaps if you would take that paranoid stick out of your butt you would see that.

Fair enough. I think Willie is keeping his plans close to vest. I assume maybe he thought he could get by Wake with the game clock management route. I saw the desire to throw more prevalent in the second half. Cullette had a good throw on 4th down but his first start showed some nerves. I expect more throwing with the lineman we have right now. Running backs are our strength though. Thanks
