We need to fans of cusa in the OCC
Our biggest problem has been our OOC underperformance in CUSA 3.0. If we are ever going to change our perception, we have to change some realities. Here's what each team has done since realignment before the 2013 season, or since becoming full members in football, in their OOC schedule:
Marshall - 12-3, 2-1 against P5
WKU - 7-3, 1-2 against P5
ODU - 4-4, 0-3 against P5
Charlotte - 2-2, 0-1 against P5
Middle - 4-10, 0-5 against P5
FIU - 3-9, 0-5 against P5
FAU - 3-9, 0-5 against P5
East Total - 35-38, 3-22 against P5
Rice - 7-7, 1-6
La Tech - 6-7, 1-5
UTEP - 5-8, 0-5
UNT - 5-8, 0-6
USM - 4-9, 0-7
UTSA - 2-10, 0-7
West Total - 29-49, 2-36
Overall - 64-87, 5-58 against P5
Among those losses are 5 to FCS teams.
So here's what we need:
No FCS losses.
We have to go at least .500 OOC.
Some teams (looking at you UTSA) need to stop over scheduling OOC.
Among the 13 of us we have to start winning at least 5 P5 games a year. We play enough middling P5 teams to accomplish that not even counting on any huge upsets.
I'll be a fan of every CUSA team the first 4 weeks. No way for the conference to get better without everybody pulling the rope.

Wow those MT numbers are bad. Hope we pull of a 4-0 and 2-0 against SEC this year.

How many of those CUSA vs "power" LOL 5 games were played on the road at the P5 school. I'm guessing 75% or more.

Reality is that it doesn't matter where you play them. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Home field shouldn't give you a win percentage in excess of 90% unless every game is against a big dog. We have a fair number of games against bad to not good P5s.

the top of this conference should beat the lower ranked P5 schools no worse than 50% and that's away. When you get them at home we need to bump it up to 60-70%. Middle of our conference 20-25% wins on the road and 40-50% at home against those bottom feeders
When you are playing the middle up (program 8, 7, 6,...) of the P5 I would think 20-25%% and if we can get 1 out of 10 vs the top 5 of a P5 conference that would be good.
Last year CUSA schools let at least 4 great chances for P5 wins slip away...
Middle let 2 get away
Western had IU reeling and did not finish
I believe it was Tech that let one slip away
Win those 4 and CUSA is #3 in the G5 at worse

The Big 12 refs gave that one to Kstate in 3OT. Their receiver was clearly out on a 4th down. Even the local Kstate commentators said he was out but the booth guy didnt overturn the bad call on the field. You've got to beat the P5 refs on the road too, only way to do that is put the game out of reach, if it is close the refs will find a way to give the game to the home P5 team
