You do visit A-State and get APP at home, so that is potentially completely logical.

Steele does seem to be pretty good about differentiating between the strength of a team and how that strength will play out in their actual schedule.

He's talked about that before. Thinks the Big 3 are so clearly above everyone else in the Sun Belt that they'll beat up on each other. In this case, Georgia Southern gets a bit of the short straw since they have to play both App and AState.

We have to remember with these ranking systems that teams ranked within a couple spots of each other are considered fairly equal, meaning either one could easily beat the other. It's not a direct representation that he thinks one team is better than the other.

I can see that which is one of the reasons I will be happy when we finally get the championship game.

Does anyone know when the stars will align and App State, GS and Arkansas State will play each other in the same season?

Hoping Troy and ULL step their game up and GSU continues to improve. Having six teams that are above average in G5 land would, in my opinion, put the Sun Belt firmly above the MAC and possibly over C-USA.

RE: Phil Steele's Power Ratings
So per Steele App State is the most talented team, GS is the best team, and Arkansas State will win the conference championship and is the Access Bowl Dark horse. Not saying I think that's wrong, just interesting.
