GoBearcats.com: A Letter from Mike Bohn
Aug. 31, 2016

Bearcats Fans,

What a thrill to have another football season opening up. We couldn't be more excited you've decided to join us for the 2016 UC football campaign at Nippert Stadium.

With seven home games on our home turf and some great new gameday events and stadium amenities, you can't believe how fired up we are to kick things off on Sept. 1.

Following last season, we sent out fan surveys to ticket holders. We appreciated all the feedback we received and want you to know we heard you and have made changes as a result of what we learned.

Parking can now be purchased online in advance for $15, a $5 savings from our gameday price of $20 per car in Campus Green, Stratford and Eden Garages. Accessible parking will move to Stratford Garage this year with a shuttle running between the garage and TUC. Athletics has issued a parking advisory for the opening game which can be viewed HERE.

We added additional hours at the Grid, allowing plot holders to access the area six hours prior to kickoff. Within the Grid, we feature an assortment of food trucks for each game, representing the best of our local cuisine.

The Bearcats Music Festival Presented By Pepsi will showcase a different local band for our first five games, starting with the Naked Karate Girls at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Our Bearcats Fan Zone is better than ever! Located at the Grid, fans of all ages can enjoy inflatable games, live entertainment, food & beverages for sale, cornhole, giveaways and visits from the Bearcat.

Inside the stadium, early arrivals will again enjoy some great Happy Hour concession specials! These special prices will be effective from the time gates open on gameday until 20 minutes before kickoff. Happy Hour specials will be available at the concession stands on Victory Plaza closest to gate 2. Additional concessions information will be available on our new gameday website, GoBEARCATS.com/gameday as well as our gameday app.

We will unveil a new intro video for 2016, created by our friends at 160 over 90. I can assure you that Bearcats fans will be fired up when they see it on Thursday night.

Thanks to some new technology from DV Sport, we will have the ability to show isolated replays on our video board, giving fans a chance to see what the officials in the booth are looking at in real time.

For all the information on what is new on football gamedays in 2016, please click HERE.

All in all, it’s a great time to be a Bearcat and I hope you are as excited as I am for UC football in 2016!

ONWARD!

I’ll see you at Nippert Stadium,
Mike Bohn

Awesome. I just wonder if the AAC or whomever calls the shots on this will allow it very often.

Not sure why people think City Barbeque is so great.

Exactly. I almost never go to city barbecue and never make it a point to go, but it's still barbecue and I still enjoy it when I have it. We all know there are way better options if you're looking to get barbecue but this is food for a football stadium.

Any of you other old fockers who used to go to the Pyramid for UC games remember the BBQ they served in their concessions? Pulled pork with sauce of choice and a metric ton of melted nacho cheese poured over the top. Sounds gross but it was a heavenly mess. I may have to make a batch today for the game.

Why can't we get one of the vendors that set up at Oktoberfest to set up a big sausage and german food booth at our games. Stock it with Kroeger Meats Sausages. Yummmmmm.

City BBQ isn't the best but it is still pretty damn good.

BBQ is a lot like beer - having any type beats the heck out of having none at all.

Does Mike Bohn still live in Colorado? Don't know why that bugs me so much.... That's what I'd probably do.

Well, IMO, either of the two (besides the hot dog) is fine with me.

I smoked a pork butt for the tailgate, didn't have to worry about either option. I do like getting Donatos at the UC basketball games though.
