Can we be considered for SWAC championship?
Yes but no way for at large bid adding so many more cupcakes at home
With this mature team I was hoping for a better scheduled
But new inexperience coach must be worried about job security

Schedule looks pretty strong to me. Kansas, Georgia/GW, St. Mary's, Texas, SFA, Memphis, and Auburn should all be opportunity for good wins with Georgia & Auburn being the least of those.

Lindenwood is the exhibition and Miles is the non D1 for those interested
Road schedule is pretty good, but the home schedule sucks. I realize teams are hesitant to play at Bartow, but that doesn't make having to pay $650 for season tickets to play this home schedule any more palatable...

Thank you Auburn or we wouldn't have a game with 5,000 people there this season.

Of those teams listed, Memphis may be the worst this year. some around here are talking about a .500 season. Pastner left a bad team bare, and Tubby hasn't really brought in anyone this year.
I think Memphis will surprise this year. They certainly aren't deep but the Lawson brothers will be the best players on the court for the majority of their games.

There may be some discontent which leads to not playing to their potential. Dedric is good, but KJ is not considered to have NBA potential. Pastner hired their dad (former UAB signee Keelon Lawson) as an assistant coach in order to get them. When Pastner left, Tubby Smith didn't retain him as an assistant. There was some talk that they might leave. Decric flirted with declaring early for the NBA but found out he wasn't as good as he thought.
Even if he is awesome this year, he is only one player and has almost nothing around him. I would say that this is one year that UAB should win at Memphis, but I know that the basketball gods have decreed that UAB never wins at Memphis. Maybe that changes this year.

Would not hurt my feelings leaving Memphis with a win. I'm going to hold out hope they surprise for the sake of our resume.

Isn't one of them coming back from a major injury?

Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein
Cincinnati, Iowa, UAB, and Wyoming will headline a new multi-team tournament in the Cayman Islands in 2017, sources told @CBSSports.
