Per Dallas beat writer Austin met with Cowboys VP this morning. Both sides are trying to work out deal terms. Possible that Austin will serve as the #2 QB behind Dak until Romo comes back. Initial thoughts had Austin as a rental for just the last preseason game since Dak will not be playing tomorrow night.

I would expect him to, at the very least, be signed onto the practice squad.
