What is the immediate future of the program?
Very promising right now. But if Wes is extremely successful, he'll be on the radar of bigger programs, just like Chris was, And if Chris is successful at Texas Tech, it will make Wes look better, since he will have come off of Chris's coaching tree.

I don't know how many years Bruce Pearl will be at Auburn, but if Wes has three or four really good years, and Pearl leaves, Wes, being an Auburn alum, will certainly get a look at that job. Ah, the life of a mid major. Maybe it's good we can't see the future.04-cheers

There is a chance this might be a case where a successful coach would want to stay home. Hoping.

$300,000 a year. $1,000,000 or more. Tough to pass up.

Oh, we would have to ante up some more. But there are a few people in the world to whom money is not the most important thing.

Probably one or two at the most. Joe Foley might be one. Who is the other one? Oh it really doesn't matter. I go by the ole saying, "whether rich or poor, it's nice to have money".

Foley is probably proof. I figure he could have moved up years ago, but evidently he likes it here. And $300M is not exactly starving to death.

Also, Wes' folks are here, and they are no longer young. Sometimes that plays a big part.

RE: What is the immediate future of the program?
No question. If you can be near your family and still make a nice living, that's important to a lot of people. I don't see Wes leaving, even if he's very successful, in the near future. And it's possible if the program's fan base grows, we can afford to pay him more if he's winning on a consistent basis. I hope Wes has the type of success that Coach Foley has had, and make this a permanent situation as Coach Foley has done. What a blessing to have had Coach Foley for all these years, and hopefully for a lot more. He took a nothing women's program and built it into a nationally respected program. Let's hope Wes can do the same.
