RE: Which school do you think was thrown in the B12 sweepstakes without their knowledge?

Which school do you believe it was, and why? Was it because the B12 picked a favorite out? Or as some speculated, that the B12 was attempting to have a representative from each G5 conference in order to draw eyeballs from all corners of the country?

Or maybe McMurphy's information was wrong and it was 19, not 20?
Bowlsby didn't commit to a number, but did say it was less than the reported 20.
Quote:Bowlsby said there are fewer than 20 interested candidates as has been reported, but declined to say if any Power 5 conference schools have expressed interest.

Well that's just silly. I guess it's easier to eliminate teams we KNOW approached the B12 about admission...
Cincinnati
Houston
BYU
Memphis
Those are the only schools we can confirm approached the B12 TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE

UCF and USF added to the list. I think East Carolina as well as politicians made a case for them.
But, BYU did signed a deal with Big 12 not to talk to the press on this issue. Schools would deny that they are in the mixed, but behind the scenes, they are. There are a lot of smokescreens out there by many schools. We do not know the exact numbers of schools that actually sent in their information. It could have been more than 50 D1 schools. I may not be surprised that a couple of D2 schools and FCS schools also inquired in joining as well.
