If someone advocates TREASON so they can create a White, Christian, Straight nation...then yes, that person is going to be labelled an extremist. I'd also call that person a traitor. And a racist. And a homophobe.

The anti-LGBT groups pretty much have to demonize LGBT persons and/or advocate criminalization. Tony Perkins qualifies (also note that Perkins paid David Duke tens of thousands for his mailing list). So does the AFA.

It isn't the 1980s anymore. The current SPLC isn't just some group of crusader attorneys trying to stick it to the klan. Those days have long since past.

Hate groups advocate for something bad to happen to another group.

Advocating good things to happen to anyone, whether you share attributes or have different attributes, is not being a hate group.

This racist labeling has gotten way, way out of hand.

There is racism, some of it blatant. It exists in maybe 1% of the situations that are currently described as racism. If that many.

I think a good part of our problem is that leftist political thinking has gotten us into the rut of thinking of life as a zero sum game. A can't get better without making B worse. That is dreadfully flawed thinking and a big deterrent to improving things for all. That should be the goal--everybody better off.

Where we need to focus is on getting rid of things that are actually racist. People who engage in racist activity need to be punished, and severely so. Describing every disagreement as motivated by racism does nobody any good. False and overhyped allegations of racism do nothing else as effectively as they interfere with what should be the goal of all, the elimination of true racism.
