If you're hitting up South Haven you should stop in Holland. Downtown is a cool little street. There's a couple breweries, a tasting room and a bunch of shops. My wife and I stayed 3 nights in Holland the weekend after our wedding this year. We went to breakfast at a place called The Windmill twice, getting the Hashbrown omelet both times which was amazing. There should be some pretty good hiking, not sure how far along your wife is but Saugatuck Dune State Park has some good trails. Lastly, the Dune rides in Saugatuck were excellent. Combined good history of the area, great views and a pretty fun ride through the dunes. Have fun.

Appreciate the restaurant recommendation. I'll do my best to hit that place on the way.
