We had 3 big events this weekend:

1. Excellence Fund Dinner: We hoped for 100 people, and 180 showed up!

2. Ground Breaking Ceremony: I don't know what size crowd they expected, but the chairs were full, and the people left standing filled the tent. It was a packed crowd!

3. Green and Gold Scrimmage: I don't know what they were expecting, but it was a jammed packed overflow crowd.

I know we all worried about attendance for all these events, but our fan base exceeded expectations in all three! That is a good feeling!

I couldn't be at the Dinner but was at the other 2. The tent for the ground breaking was completely full. If anyone else had shown up they would have been outside. The stadium for the scrimmage was probably at 200+% capacity and it was truly a festive atmosphere.

Men's Soccer beat Xavier as well. Although we lost our home opener 1-0 to Memphis. First time Memphis had won in Birmingham since 2003.

Good deal. Hopefully this season goes much better than last.

And apparently, we played well against Memphis other than squandering our chances. Getman seems to believe in this team.
