No watching football on a "futbol" field isn't ideal but that's not the point of the exercise. The point is get a group of guys at least some semblance of game experience, mark an end to fall camp and celebrate everything that's happened in the last year.

Exactly! It was all about the joy of getting those big-head-dragon helmets back on the field and experiencing the commonality of the "Vocal Few"

I loved the atmosphere and thought that the product on the field had great talent but not much polish, it was like looking at a game in beta, it is there and the concept is there but the final touches are yet to happen. I cannot wait until Sep. 2nd 2017 because I know we will be a good team.

Not a bad event by no means just terrible sightlines if you had to stand.

I enjoyed being there, but couldn't really tell what was going on because I was standing on a hill in the corner of the endzone. They need to get some temporary bleachers for the next one

After watching the scrimmage, I wonder if we're going to be a bit like we were under Callaway/Helton - O isn't going to be our problem. Hopefully what schollys they have left they can find some more D people plus sign some in this spring. There're a few talented D people but getting a few more for some quality depth would be nice.

Offensive skill will get a big boost with Ubosi, Law, and the HS guys from Trussville and MJ. I have a lot of faith in Clark to identify and address our weaknesses.

We don't have the talent we had in 2014, but with another year to prep and recruit I think we can get back to 6 wins in year one. That's what I hope anyway.

I dont think the roster is thst far off from an 10 win season.

This team would have beaten Callaway's first team.

Other than missed tackles and blown coverages (I didnt see many of those), I really don't know how we can tell if our defense was weaker or our offense was just plain good. Hard to tell when UAB is playing UAB.

The Defense will look better when the have the 1's and 2's on the same team so they can rotate the down line.. Overall I think we have an offense with a lot of potential for yards, big plays and points and a defense that has the potential to be pretty dang good.. Just my thoughts......

Exactly.

We're a top spread team if we played this year and ran the spread with the wideouts here.

I see few areas that concern me with the roster the way it is. Should see a pretty good second scrimmage.
