All our fans do is complain. There's always an excuse.

As I said in one of the other thread...I believe that SF said that there will be a schedule announcement with ESPN coming soon.

SF said the BC game was picked for a Friday night so it would be on national TV and so we would have 1 extra day of prep for our next opponent.

He also said that Idaho in 2018 will be the last time you see an out of state FCS team at Huskie Stadium on his watch. He did make an exception for UNI as a fallback team if needed because they can bring a good number of people to Huskie Stadium.

SF is also very much in support of the state legislators writing up some law requiring UofI to play NIU every so often. His top reason is to keep the money in the state which it so desperately needs to do.

Could have been a big game if on Saturday This Friday change hurts big time. Really disappointing

I brought that up to him and he said it was always planned on being on a Friday night.

It will be a full house so I have no issue with it.

Sold out on a Friday night? I don't think it can come close to capacity on a Friday

When this game was first scheduled it was penciled in for a Friday night in 2017 or as a Saturday game this season. This is no surprise. With it being Labor Day weekend, Friday night makes a lot of sense. If ESPN picks up the game then it's a smart choice. Some people might stay home to watch the game on tv which could hurt attendance but we have an ACC team coming here so we should be excited. That alone should make fans come out. It just baffles me that people still find a reason to complain. I'd take a P5 team here anytime if they are willing to play us.

If that's the case it wouldn't be a sellout on Saturday either then.

So now they can go to the game AND go home for the long weekend.

Also last year for the UNLV game on a Saturday during Labor Day weekend it wasn't the student side the look sad.

There will be a lot better student turnout for the Friday night game than there would have been for a Saturday game. Students can party Friday, go to the game and still have a three day Labor Day weekend at home.

The BC game should sell out.

I did not get that impression at all by the way he was talking. Not at least for that week 2 spot.

We play an FCS team every year. Given that BC, SDSU, and Nebraska are not FCS, that leaves week 2.

That's right! I knew it was a weekday game but didn't remember when. Students stayed then hopefully they will stay one extra night. Big issue is that many more students commute now than in years past.

I don't think the number of students that commute has changed significantly since 2003. What could be a drag on attendance for the BC game is the TV factor. HDTVs and streaming options weren't around in 2003.

Maryland Coach Ralph Fridgen wanted to play the game on Saturday. We wanted to play it on Thurs. Maryland was facing Florida St after they played us on the following sat. Coach Novak convinced ralph that by playing the game on Thurs. he would have extra prep time for Florida St.

I don't have statistics but I'm told more students are communting. Either way overall enrollment is down a lot.

BC doesn't have any game scheduled for week 2 in 2017 but they usually have a conference game early in their schedule. So their game after us will probably be a conference game. Could be a bye but doubtful that early. They have Notre Dame in week 3.

Yes and it was just a perfect storm, there was great excitement about that NIU headed into the 2003 season based on what happened the previous year. Maryland was a top 15 team also.

MD, just go to the dam game and enjoy yourself. It's tiring to listen to you. Quit looking for the negative
