If the flags were used to taunt, then ban the idiots doing the taunting, not the flags.

Finally, someone with common sense. Are they also taking down the flag from flag posts now?

This is the U.S. of A. and for some reason these people came to our country just like my dad did and he was the proudest AMERICAN there could be. These new immigrants should learn that the flag symbolizes our country.

I think some clarity needs to be added to this thread. I don't see anything that implies that this was about avoiding offending immigrants because an American flag was hung on a flag post at the end of the stadium. It appeared to be about a bunch of yahoos who were waving American flags in the faces of the immigrants and likely shouting slurs.

If you can't understand the difference....well, never mind.

It's those yahoos that prove Kaepernick's point, and no one wants that.

Kaepernick doesn't have a point. He's just regurgitating liberal talking points that were debunked months ago. Not to mention this little stunt he's pulling is because he won't "get any" if he doesn't.

I agree in principle but it can be difficult culling out the knuckleheads.

By the way, I don't suggest that general taunting be banned.

Just last night, I attended a high school soccer game between two rivals, let's say teams A and B. Last year, team A beat B three times and went to the state finals before losing. They also lost 9 starters.

Last night, team B got off to a 4-0 lead and a student unfurled a school flag that was about three times normal size and started running back and forth in front of team A's fans. Valid taunting in my opinion.

Yes indeed. If the person is on the field and authorized to do that yes. If they are in the stands and obstructing someone's view of the game then NO.

Good lord, banning flags in the stands at a soccer match? That's just crazy talk.

No one is calling for that either. Soccer games are much different, certain parts of the stadium are designated for that kind of thing.

Now if the school wanted to designate a flag flying section of the stadium, I wouldn't have a problem with that either.

But let's cut the crap here. We all know that some on this forum simply want bigots to have the opportunity to taunt minorities.

What about minority bigots, such as yourself, having the opportunity to taunt whitey with the Mexican flag?
