Like this hasn't been covered 1,000 times...

We don't even know if the B12 will expand yet, and if so, by how many, and if so, who. So at this point, until I read something more credible, like from McMurphy and crew, I am not convinced anyone is going anywhere. I will worry about it then.

No, UofL comes back into the fold. Don't forget about UConn to the Big East!

NIU and Toldeo wouldn't be a bad call. Don't think it will happen.

I say no one. IF the Big 12 does expand,,,,a big IF, then I believe that only 1 from the AAC will go. My vote would be to stand pat. If my back was against the wall and we needed 1 then I'd vote for Air Force. If that's too far west then I'd go with an odd number till things sorted themselves out.

Here's my guess -

If Memphis goes - USM replaces them
If UH goes - USM replaces them
If Cincy goes - NIU replaces them
If UConn goes - ODU replaces them

If either or both the FL schools go - the AAC makes another push for a western div (CSU, AF, BSU & SDSU) & then redefines east/west.

I think another question for AAC fans is who gets the call from the ACC to fill the spot when Louisville loses its accreditation?

A lot of what I've heard is NIU has been using the B12 pitch to position themselves for the AAC. Gotta imagine the publicity and recognition by the B12 helps their chances of a reload to the AAC

My best guess is...
Houston and Cincinnati.

I don't think the B12 expands.

Two teams will be UC (placate UWV) and BYU (big push going on according to Texas columnists). With 4 teams, I would guess Houston and SMU (good Bball and academics) with Memphis in the running. I would bet on just two team expansion. Only BYU brings in big fandom. Houston and SMU hurt Big 12 recruiting with their new coaches.

Probably depends on which division the NFL moves them to.

RE: So who replaces Cincinnati & Houston ?
Rice would be my prediction to replace Houston if Houston goes. Same market as UH, biggest athletic dept. budget in CUSA, and buddies with Tulane, Tulsa and SMU.

Much tougher call on a replacement for Cincy. NIU would be a great pick as far as athletic department strength. Geographically, though, the conference would really benefit from ODU, which sits nicely between Temple and ECU. If it's not ODU, it may make sense to bring in VCU as a non-football member to create a pod.

If we lose 2 and cant get MWC teams or BYU then I say we stay at 10. Theres nobody in CUSA, Sunbelt or MAC that interests me.
