Expect mosquitos. They started draining rice fields recently, so they're on the move.
A few of us went out last night and were tormented by them. Of course, with more people, it won't seem as bad.

Looking forward to a fun injury-free game!

RE: Friday's Game Weather
Yes, mosquitoes in Jonesboro are awful in early September, and they swarm. Every Summer all the Rice farms around Jonesboro flood their fields, and mosquito's use the standing water to breed. Near the end of September, the fields are drained in preparation for the Fall Harvest, and it forces the mosquitoes to move, and most of them find their way to Jonesboro.

I'd advise bringing bug spray.

They don't drain the rice fields around here until....well, never. Or at least until climate change makes it profitable to grow rice in Ohio. We just have mosquitos because they hate us.

RE: Friday's Game Weather
i heard they were bad on Sunday night at practice but I don't recall seious bug problems duing games and I have been attending games since the 80s. Maybe I have forgotton over time. I guess it could be a tailgating concern. Maybe they will spray for games. Wouldn't take much of an effort.

RE: Friday's Game Weather
You've got to drain fields so the ground can dry out and allow you to harvest.

Should be nice. Humidity in the 60s, which for the last month or so is low.

Looks like the tropical system (probably Tropical Storm Ian) is also going to turn east before it gets close enough to reach Jonesboro, so things are looking up.

They're now predicting a high of 84, and a low of 61 on Friday. That's nice!

This is true. 70's in Jonesboro is not really cool by any means, it's just cool compared to the triple digits we were seeing a week or two ago.

I think our guys will be ready for that kind of weather. For the past week or two it's been hot and humid as heck up here. The skeeters haven't been bad this year, though, because the first half of the Summer was very dry.

Weather forecast now is 73 at kickoff and dipping into the 60s by games end. It should be perfect.
