RE: Game Day Weather for the Hampton Game
The latest 5PM update now has the storm tracking more west right over Hampton Roads at 2 PM Saturday right at tailgate time....

Crap. Was hoping it would go out to sea around Wilmington. These things have a tendancy to move slower than forecast. Maybe it will hold out until after the game is over.

There is no way they play this game on Sat. With this current forecast....tropical storm force winds and heavy rains. There are way too many liability issues associated with playing a game in those conditions. This game is either cancelled or moved to Friday or Sunday.

Might have been me that shared on the zone. Been following for a long time. Great forecaster.

Though not ideal for us fans, I think game will go on. It will be similar to the ap state game last year. Nasty but not dangerous.

RE: Game Day Weather for the Hampton Game
With Monday a holiday and Hampton a local school, it seems a Sunday game could be doable. Don't know allof the logistics, but seems like a possibility. Sure hope so, after waiting this long I'd gladly settle for a Sunday game.

Didn't VT play a game in a hurricane about 10 years ago? I bet the game goes on. We may lose the sell out streak as a result of the weather though. Was hoping that would get to 50 first.

I'm sure it'll technically be a sell out. They were real close yesterday. Big donors will pick up the slack if there is any. Now how many people show up is a different story.

Thank goodness we have a stable of running backs. If they play, it won't be a good day to pass.

Hampton is local, most of our fans are local, Monday is a holiday anyway, I know it is pretty unprecedented for a college game but how about shifting it to Sunday? Yes, I know there are a lot of staffing issues, referees etc. but maybe just think about it? I am tired of going to games in the pouring rain and the Norfolk State game last year lasted forever due to the delays and was miserable. Okay, old guy rant over...

I hear ya' but I am not sure it's worth the risk of losing a day of prep and recovery time for App. State.

RE: Game Day Weather for the Hampton Game
Sunday would be a possibility, but anything after that becomes too much stress on players bodies. The NFL players hate Thursday night games because it only gives them 3 days rest. I expect the game to go on as scheduled with minimal crowds.

Orrrr....I know it would be a first, but the forecast might just be inaccurate. I know, I know...that NEVER happens.

RE: Game Day Weather for the Hampton Game
The threat of lightning and possibly tornado warnings etc. combined with heavy wind and rain....makes this game very unlikely it will get played. If the track moves further east...different story. It seems to be trending that way and slowing down so maybe we catch a break.

I think moving it to tomorrow night (Friday) sounds like a better idea. Shorten the tailgate time from 5 to 7:45pm and make 8pm the kick off time. Logistically this could work!
