Looks like it's time to cut ties.

May need to draft a corner again

Yeah. Have to unload that guy. He's way too much trouble. Plus, he's old and clearly on the downward spiral of his career. His constant on field and off field issues just aren't worth it.

RE: Bengals 2016
I hope I am wrong, but I don't view things the same way some do on this board. I don't feel like this team is a few moves away from being right back into the playoffs. The arrows are pointing in the wrong direction. Marvin Lewis looked tired and worn out at his press conference. I don't think he has the drive that he once did. Not like he did when he hit his "reset/refresh" button back before his playoff run. I just wonder if he is going in the way of Tubs and has partially checked out?

The past few drafts have not worked out, your best two OL'men are on their way out the door, with nothing waiting in the wings. Your best player is pissed off and disgruntled. Your second best player has missed time with a concussion for the 2nd time in 3 years. Your 3rd best player also can't stay off IR. And now you have one of your "leaders" getting arrested 2 days after the season is over.

I just don't see the optimism. I think they have missed their window with this group. Just like in 2005, which was that team's peak, but they missed out because of Carson's injury, then things went down hill from there. 2015 was the peak of this current team, now they have taken a step back, and it may get worse before it gets better.

Maybe you're right, but 1-6-1 in one score games will not happen again. It just won't. Those things even out in the NFL (they were 6-3 in one score games last year). Bengals finished with a positive point differential despite replacing the OC, 2 wide receivers, injuries to most important 3 passing weapons (Green, Eifert, Gio), constant struggles at the offensive line and a defense that struggled the first half of the season. Next year they get to play a 3rd place schedule (Buffalo and Denver, i know 2 losses this year) and the AFC South... that won't hurt. Improvement next year is not automatic. They'll struggle again if the offensive line doesn't protect Dalton and they need to find a top flight pass rusher, but I think this year was kind of flukie and this team remains good enough to be a playoff team. Whether the talent is there to be legitimate contenders is to be seen, because I agree they have missed too often in recent drafts when they were doing really well before that.

RE: Bengals 2016
Well...so if we take middle on the one score games then the bengals are really about a 8-8 or 9-7 team. Not good enough.

Also how much of that is coaching? Zampese clearly was a fail. And Marvin is a conservative game manager type coach. The defense came on late but clearly guys like MJ aren't cutting it and Hunt is a fail and Clarke probably is too. Some may have been no burfict early. As he came on,

Should they trade Mccarron and get a 2 and a 4....although not sure that's what they'd get unless they trade to browns...and add comp picks probs 2 at end of 4th and 2 6th rounders the Bengals can bring in a lot of players.

But this team has not drafted as well as people say. Lotta misses. Some bad luck and who knows how Billings in particular will bounce back.

Top draft hopes...

Barnett DE Tenn
Tim Williams Pass rusher Alabama
Corey Davis WR

Looks like a weak off line draft. But wow the recent picks bengals have made there are underwhelming at best and terrible at worst.

And what if Fournette or Cook are there...would you take one?

To me Hill is done. This year showed last year is no aberration. Dude just doesn't produce enough except near goal line maybe. He runs soft and not like a 235 lb back.

To me this is the problem with Lewis and Bengals thinking they are close. Makes them afraid to make the tough moves needed. I get rewarding guys but on the flip side when they don't produce you have to move on.

Team needs to admit Zampese was a mistake. Move on from Alexander. Stop giving him a pass. Live and die with Bodine. Terrible drafting lately. Next. Cut MJ. Send some messages. Produce or go.

Cut Jones ASAP. The 1st rounder from last year will be back to take his spot.

I agree on Hill. I'd love to see them get rid of him.

He has had one good 1/2 season. Burkhead is better back. You can RBs late round or UFA, or pick em off waiver.

I feel confident in saying the Bengals won't be re-signing Hill. Burkhead is also a free agent. I'd love to see the Bengals re-sign him but the price would have to be right.

I would never draft a RB high. Those guys take the most punishment so their careers are short, plus I honestly believe RBs are all a product of a good OL.

While Steve Wilks was granted permission by CAR to interview for Skins coordinator opening, CIN will not allow Paul Guenther to do so

The Bengals rarely permit a coach to interview for a lateral position. Steve Wilks is assistant head coach/DB coach for Carolina. This could be a promotion for him. I'm fine with the Bengals' policy on this.

The top QB's we've been discussing all year as greats are in the Final four. Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisberger. 10 Superbowl appearances between them. Along with Matt Ryan who had an MVP season. They say defense wins championships, but its hard to argue against having a great QB.

RE: Bengals 2016
Going back 16 years only twice has the AFC QB at the Super Bowl not been Brady, Manning, or Roethlisberger. Competing for championships is almost impossible without Hof caliber QBs. You need to have a historically great D like Denver last year or Baltimore in the past.
