Evan Cole commits to the Dub!
Versatile Evan Cole committed to the Hawks! Program is on a roll. His footage was impressive as was Brion's.

Similar size and skills as Matt Elmore. 6'8" but only 200 lbs. Looks like he can play in the post or step outside for the three.

Nice get for UNCW. The big fish in the pond is JP Moorman though. Considered to be one of the top 5 players in the state of NC and UNCW is still remaining in his final 5. Hope Keatts really makes a push here.

Almost all of our current offers and interest are players who are 6'7"/6'8".

Two spots left, and 14 offers out there.

It is really tough to sign these type players who live in the middle of ACC country-Tobacco Road. They grow up living a ACC dream and if offered pick a school that might not be a good fit but is bright lights, big city basketball. I would put my money on Georgia Tech for this player.

Georgia Tech is the dumps of the ACC and offers little to recruits outside of playing better ACC talent. That may be enough to sway some but it's doubtful anyone attending GT these days will sniff anything outside an early round exit in the ACC tournament. Schools on the rise like us offer a better possibility of postseason play and better coaching.

Most of these guys have some dream of playing after college, even if it's overseas. Keatts offers some incredible connections to pro ball, as well as a style of play that showcases offense and provides an ability for players to come out of college with some gaudy stats.

When Keatts was able to compare our first commit to PJ Hairston...whom he coached...it was apparent it had a HUGE impact. He has personal relationships with multiple players in the NBA and overseas, where he can pick up a phone and make a call. I really think Keatts is building something special at UNCW, and recruits are starting to respond positively. CJ Bryce snubbing Wichita State was a huge shift in our level of recruiting. The fact Moorman still has UNCW on a list with high level mid majors and GT speaks volumes about where we are.

RE: Evan Cole commits to the Dub!
Was talking to a guy on campus today and he said he was tight with a player from his hometown who had received an offer from UNCW. I was pleased to find out that the friend of his happens to be JP Moorman! Said Moorman's short list includes GT, UNCW, Cincy, and Temple (and one other which I can't remember).
