...about this board. Slow day, so I thought I'd post a few things that I've noticed.

1. Who are the guests? When you sign on, the top of the board lists other named posters, which averages maybe 10-20 at any time. But the Guests can get near 100.

2. Don't miss key. I was using a hand held device and mistakenly entered Cssnbbs.com. The extra "s" got me to a Chinese site that could have been porn. I didn't take any chances in exploring and closed it up.

Most of the time guests aren't even real people, but are web crawlers or robots mining information for search engines, etc.

Not long after we got internet in the fire stations one of our older Battalion Chiefs who wasn't very internet savvy wanted to look up something that was available on the official White House site. He thought he was being smart when he put in .com instead of .org.......up until an adult website popped up. He couldn't click out of it fast enough.

American traffic to that site is going to spike.

Omgoodness. I never really noticed that. 79 guests. Probably some of them are the stragglers that left to form their own forum. Fishing for topic ideas!

I knew guests are just folks who have not logged in and/or are not registered. But what are "invisible" users, and how does one become "invisible"? And if they are "invisible" then why are they listed in the first place. Doesn't that make then somewhat visible, at least?

Profile -> edit options -> privacy -> tic the box that says "I'm a gavina"

frustrating. soft core. pixelated faces. I don't read Chinese, but I suspect most of the posts read, "stop spunking on your knock-off iPad and call 1-great-ball-of-China".

john is one of the posters who visits in invisible mode. Select invisible in the options and it wont show your name at the top under "User(s) browsing this forum:". It will include you in the invisible number.
