I guess they just don't appreciate us any more. Wait till the sellout streak stops and then we'll see some real appreciation!

RE: FAN APPRECIATION DAY
It was a great event the last two years. Sorry not to have the opportunity to meet and gather with other fans and the athletes from ODU. The students deserve the recognition. It appeared it was well attended and the kids had a ball on all the events that were set up around Forman Field.

RE: FAN APPRECIATION DAY
Too many things working against it this year. In order to include the new students and the football team, the only date that makes sense is the Saturday of move-in weekend, which is typically the last day of camp for the team. This year there was another event planned for the students and the football team wanted to do a closed scrimmage as their last practice of camp, and they wanted to scrimmage at night because the Hampton game will be a night game.

The first year we did this event we combined it with the SRC's Rec Fest and we had a tremendous student turnout. The Rec Fest went away last year and student attendance dropped but we saw a good turnout with the surplus sale. We didn't have either this year, so attendance was a concern.

Maybe it comes back next year. I'd like for it to be an indoor event, so we don't have to worry about weather and other logistics of hosting it at Ballard Stadium (restroom cleaning, tents, concessions, parking, video board/lights, security). It takes more than you'd think to host this event. Perhaps the new BBall Practice Gym is an option.

RE: FAN APPRECIATION DAY
For those of you who enjoyed getting a first glimpse of the team intro video at this event, we recently got the final version delivered to us. We're planning to get it up on social media tomorrow. I think you'll enjoy it! Best I've seen in several years IMO.

Thank you for the reply and giving us the whys and why nots. FWIW - I do hope it can be brought back and selfishly I like it for football. Thanks again...

I think having it inside would dampen the fun... My kids love running around on the field meeting the cheerleaders and players... learning ice cream and cake...

Hhhmm, yeah probably. If you're starting to think that college age girls are seeing you as being old then it likely actually started happening several years ago.

Haha, it's a good gig if you can get it. If not get yourself some socks with sandals and stop giving a ****. That way the girls won't feel so threatened. Better to be seen as sad than creepy.
