Even with CMU beating ranked OSU and Ohio dominating a BIIX team (albeit a bad one), the MAC did not show well at all yesterday.

Two more losses to FCS teams (to go along with Buffalo's loss to Albany last week) and BG very lucky to come away with a win against ND - that's North Dakota, not Notre Dame (and not even NDSU) - when winning 2pt conversion pass was just off the hands of the open receiver (and ND had earlier missed 2 FGs).

NIU got smoked by USF, giving up over 600 yards. UA and EMU, not unexpectedly, got beaten badly by P5 schools. BSU made it look close at the end against Indiana, so there's that.

At least UT & WMU dominated their FCS opponents as expected.

i'd say it was a good week. the mac beat a ranked team and went 2-0 vs the big12. the rockets won big and the league has 3 teams in position to get national ranking attention by the time mac play begins. true, there is not great depth in the league and niu seems to be falling off (thank god) but the MAC West is poised for a really good series of games between WMU-CMU-Toledo with the best of those 3 having a chance at making national noise. If CMU beats Virginia and WMU beats Illinois, the MAC will go 5-8 vs the P5 with all those games on the road. That will be the league's best percentage against P5 leagues in history. I believe.

The Chips received 4 votes in the AP poll after beating Oklahoma State. Central Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan each received a vote in the coaches poll after week 2. Not surprisingly, Oklahoma State dropped out of the top 25 in both polls.
