That sort of talk is typical UT - like they can "beckon" anyone to be their coach...but they have Strong & they are building a strong tradition of losing. BTW, Saban will retire at UA after he wins another NT. What those too close to UT don't see is that UT has built a culture of entitlement & they are holding on to a myth, a fantasy of status that no longer applies when it comes to performance on the field - and ironically the delusion is so deep they don't even understand it.

You do not know that about Saban and if not him then Herman

Saban's 64 yrs old & contracted to UA for the next 8 yrs as the highest paid coach in college FB - at a school that can compete for the nat'l title every year in the strongest conference in college FB. And you think he'll take a job that is on a downhill slide to permanent mediocrity in a conference that seems to have no direction just because it's UT? Wow, more of that delusional thought of UT's standing when it comes to FB. You need to get outside Texas some, for some reality. And if the B12 let's UH in, UT will never get Herman either. He'll get used to beating UT regularly, will be rewarded accordingly & hold on for the OSU job at some point.

So you think you know what the future holds. Ok Nostradamus....give us the next winning lotto numbers.

Just giving you a little dose of reality. You need to take those orange colored glasses off & see what the rest of the nation already knows about UT FB, it's mediocre. As for predictions, again you're the man with the orange glasses, saying UT will get Saban as their coach. And BTW, have some pride in SMU & quit being a UT apologist.

You are so WRONG about everything. If you read the history of my posts on this and the realignment board you will see that I have repeatedly said that I am from Oklahoma and I grew up a fan of all of the Oklahoma teams....OU,OSU and Tulsa. How you ever came to the conclusion I was a Texas fan is beyond me.

I have also repeatedly said on these boards that I thought Houston should be in the Big12. Not only now, but from the beginning of the Big12. So I have no agenda against Houston.

I just give Texas their due.... or a dose of reality, something you do not want to do. They have great resources and they will be back.

I am not a UT fan, but I respect them. You seem to have a lot of hate for Texas for some reason.

Don't care about UT one way or the other & it doesn't matter your comments about supporting other schools. But I do believe based upon recent history of UT & UH that UH would have whipped UT in each of the last several seasons. Sure respect UT all you want but their FB has been mediocre, can't believe you'd even debate it.

It matters because you said I needed to take off my orange colored glasses. Which is not so. I never said UT football was anything other than mediocre the last few years. So you are wrong again to say I ever debated that. What I said was..... they will be back.

At least everyone is in agreement with the reality that Cincinatti will never be in the Big 12.

If by everyone you mean the voices in your head, sure. We'll go with that. If you mean everyone in this thread, not so much. Cincinnati is a legitimate candidate and so are Houston and Memphis. (And yes, it's spelled C-I-N-C-I-N-N-A-T-I! If you're gonna troll the fanbase of a school, at least learn how to spell said school right. #kthxbai)

Oh, I know! The Bearcats have never at any point been a legitimate national title contender in football during the past ten yea--Oh, wait. What's that? They were in 2009?

Yup. Legitimate candidate for the Big XII. #kthxbai

Why doesn't the Big 12 just add: UConn, Cincinnati, Houston & BYU? That would Make a great FB & BB conference. Football is the engine, but it wouldn't hurt the brand to be great in basketball also.

Dude you are getting trolled. He is misspelling Cincinnati on purpose. Of course Cincinatti will never be in the Big 12, they don't exist.

It's playing out just as expected. The delay in expansion is a direct result of no one outside of Texas wants Houston.

If last night proves anything, it proves these AAC teams can generate the eyeballs. If if finally leads to expansion and getting their prized program (Cincy) in the B12..the non Texas schools need to suck it up and admit Houston too.

Until the Big 12 expands they will not achieve many CFP games.. They should add the following for future growth.e

Until the Big 12 expands, they will not achieve many CFP bowl games. They should add the following schools.
East Div.;.1. West Virginia 2. UConn 3. Cincinnati 4, Memphis 5 USF 6, UCF 7. Iowa State 8 Kansas State 9 Kansas U.
West Div.:.1. Texas 2. TCU 3. Texas Tech 4, Baylor 5. Houston 6. BYU 7 Air Force 8, Colorado state 9. Boise State.
Now a you have a great P-5 conference. The Big 12 conference is short sighted. Change is a constant.
1. Hold the CCFB game in the AA&T stadium.
2 Hold the BBCG in.. Kansas City Kemper Arena.
3. Place the conference HQ's in Irving , Texas/

Remove the new teams that you added to the Big 12 and ask yourself one question....... are those teams worth 20 to 30 million each? Hell no. Think about how bad the Big 12s media share would plummet.

most of the teams in the big 12 are not worth 20-30 million.
with that being said i like the american as is. the only reason for moving up would be for the money.

As a Cincy fan, I have no desire to play football in the Big 12. Money and exposure are the only reasons to consider a move. In the American, money is a real problem for athletic departments. The greatest evidence of this is coaching turnover. In the event that we can achieve a media deal that semi-stabilizes this problem, the American is a nice place to park your university.

However, in the larger scheme, Cincinnati needs some regional rivalries. In the Big East, we had Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Louisville. These three universities are all within 3 hours of the universities and offered packed houses in both football and basketball. Even more than money, this is what I as a fan desire.

So ideally, I root for an invite from the ACC or the destruction of the Big 12 that results in West Virginia and Iowa State joining our conference. West Virginia and Iowa State combined with Memphis would greatly add to semi-regional rivalries for football and hoops.

I feel ya. The big 12 is ideal for Houston since many of the universities are within ear shot. But I care less for them. I rather have this band of misfits.

Overheard from a neighboring stall in the Dairy Whip bathroom that UT wants ECU and UCONN. Done deal by 2020.
