It's at home. Opening night. We have the same coach we had last year. He didn't leave even though every time we drilled someone's @$$ last year the first thing out of the opposing fans mouths was 'oh well....you're losing your coach'. A bunch of ya'll ran your pieholes about that but no way you'd admit to it now.
Replacing Brandon Doughty is a huge undertaking. Mike White has been named the starter. He has a TON of weapons. Top 2 receivers back. Top 2 running backs back. Entire O-Line back and they were one of the best in the league last year.
So we really should win. But I've seen a lot stranger things happen in college athletics. I never count a win before it happens.
I will be there. Can't wait.
Brohm is a superstar coach in the making. So fun to watch.
Of course we have a target on our backs. We did something that had never been done in the history of CUSA. Ran the table AND won the championship game. Put up video game numbers on folks. I don't blame folks for hatin' and pulling for Rice.
lose a few in a row to UAB.....that was beyond 'needles in eyes'....
"never" only happens when the dust stops stirrin'....
w/o question....kudos and to what you guys have accomplished....ky jello ain't go shite in the pride cat when it comes to the gridiron.....it's fun, eh?

When teams start hating you, you always know you doing things right
When you average putting up 42 ppg and that is by halftime.
When you score 58ppg against a "defensive team".
When you take their undefeated season away from them.
When you take their chance at a conference championship away
they have a reason to hate you
Just Win!.....
even if it's not 42 point by halftime or 58 points when the horn blows

Yeah, replacing their starting QB might cost WKU some games . . . but not this one!

Rice could win.
I am not sure about the point spread's accuracy. It is just the odds as set by the bettors, and a lot of that is based on perception, and a lot of that is based on last year's result and location.
I like what I hear coming out of Rice, but Bailiff has shown he is capable of large standard deviation. This probably won't be a two touchdown game. Rice could win. But more likely we see some of the same Bailiff team issues and this game gets ugly by halftime.

When you don't lose many, those losses become memorable, and when the same team beats you back to back, well they get a schedule circle and become the enemy. One could call it backhand respect.

I like RICE. In order for us to have a shot at the West title we need them to lose this game. It also doesn't help that WKU seems to have the superior team.

I personally love the new intense rivalry between WKU and Marshall. It is still very new. But the hatred is overflowing. Nice to have a team other then Middle that we love to hate.

My wife is from there so while I don't like them, I don't hate them like some Western fans. Marshall has easily took over the role of Rival for me.

Yup GO, I get the feeling Coach B is on the hot seat. In watching the DVR of last years game in Houston, it's obvious there won't be the mental error gifts we got last year

I think our offense will be slow out of the gate but I feel we will get the running game going in 2nd half and pull away 2nd half...Taking off work Thursday and Friday to be there, cannot wait!
Final Score:
RIce 24
WKU 42

Which is why I think we can still win a lot of games. A good O Line can make a avg QB look a lot better

Love the optimism, but if Leon Allen plays this season, I will be shocked...Earliest if everything possible in his rehab goes to perfection my guess would be end of October to see Leon Allen this season and at this point that seems like a stretch....Feel bad for Allen but Ferby and Wales are a really nice duo and a Freshman RB who may play this season Quentin Baker has been drawing huge reviews in practices and camp is a name to watch for...

Well, hopefully he'll get a 9th year like Doughty.
In all seriousness, I hope he recovers and can play... But if not, I hope the young man gets another year... It's only fair to him and his NFL aspirations..
