I wonder if that's referring to a late skype presentstion ("late" in sense of DMN blog saying those were wrapped up).

OR could it possibly mean that with new high end facilities in LV and the size of LV market, that Big 12 will make a campus visit??

I am sure that you are very upset and you think that UNLV is making a big mistake...

... because, according to you, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas will all leave the Big 12 if any G5 teams are added.

This crazy idea that Cincy or Memphis or Houston will be playing in a league with OU or Texas is insane. OU and Texas are leaving. Big-12 will be destroyed.

PAC-12 could take Texas, OU, Kansas and OK State right now.

If Texas plays hard ball, OU could go SEC. Kansas has options.

Nobody is sticking around for Cincy BYU or Houston I can tell you that.

(07-30-2016 04:32 PM)RebelRobert Wrote:  UNLV has the same chance as the rest of you to play in the same conference with OU or Texas.

NONE.

Best of luck being in a conference with W Virginia, Iowa State K State and Texas Tech.

That is what will be left.

I am not worried about UNLV. We will end up where we belong in a conference with Arizona State, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and Cali schools.

Anyone who thinks OU and Texas are sticking around in the Big-12 is delusional.

Sounds like the DMN blog is in error like most of the media on this subject.

I think UNLV makes a LOT of sense... IF Big XII adds BYU.

Sin City balancing out Saint City?

Driving wise, only 5 hours away, a bit closer than Boise, and several hours closer than Fort Collins

Good observations.

They could make a play for SDSU as well to grab a big western market.

SDSU/UNLV/BYU/CSU would be a nice combo for the conference.

It would be even nicer if they also added one of the Arizona schools and Boise State to get to 16. But none of this is will pass.

Do you have a specific time-frame of when you expect that to happen?

UNLV is not a proactive school, we are reactive.

It is clear to anyone paying close attention that about two years ago someone contacted UNLV and told them what needed to be done for them to be admitted into a major conference. Who contacted them? Your guess is as good as mine.

I believe the PAC-12 or Big-12 did.

UNLV who is not proactive, out of nowhere decided to start a new medical school, build a new billion dollar Football Stadium and spend $75 million on upgrades to the Thomas & Mack Center for Basketball. UNLV will announce a new $40 million dollar football practice facility paid for by the Fertitas next month.

Why is UNLV doing this? Someone important told them to do it.

Never in my lifetime has UNLV put in this sort of effort. They wouldn't do it unless they had been coached to do so.

I believe the hold up on a Big-12 announcement is that they are waiting for the stadium in Vegas to be approved and it is taking longer than they expected.

A special session of the Nevada legislature should be called next month to expedite the stadium approval.

UNLV President will update Big-12 on where UNLV is at in the process next week.

Big-12 Championship game in Vegas and Las Vegas Bowl will be Big-12 vs PAC-12.
In new stadium..

No **** sherlock.

I said UNLV would end up with them.

Just like OU and Texas will end up in the Big Ten. They are not there now, but they will end up where they belong.

UNLV will end up playing Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and the Cali Schools.

TCU will end up with SMU, Rice, Baylor etc.

In the end people will end up where they belong.

why would UNLV "belong" in the PAC 12 while TCU would "belong" with SMU Rice and Baylor in a Big 12 that lost their best programs

if we were going by academics and on the field performance then UNLV would belong in the Sunbelt or in the folded WAC before TCU would belong in a conference that lost their major teams
