You will never answer that question, because we both know what the answer is, and we both know that answer will invalidate your posturing.

Juan will not answer the question because he cannot answer the question, and he knows the motivation behind his stance is political. He said it himself......"popular opinion should never get in the way of civil rights". But he defines those "civil rights" as the right to vote on demand, regardless of one's Constitutional standing. And his response is for you to break the law to prove him wrong. Owl wins.

John.... I don't believe that you would support voter ID even if I could guarantee that every person that might have an issue getting an ID is addressed case by case and even given the benefit of the doubt and issued a valid ID...(Which BTW is exactly what I would propose). Owl is simply trying to make the point that you really can not say voter fraud does not exist unless you validate and match up clearly the name on the register with the person standing there. It is simple logic.

As I have said...I don't personally believe voter fraud is a problem. I do however think that having a valid form of identification is important as a citizen. Having one is actually more important in our daily lives than voting every couple of years. I don't understand the objection to setting up a system that insures that people have valid IDs unless they simply have some other underlying agenda.

Organizations either like or dislike voter id based on if it will or won't help them.

I don't think individuals have too much of a problem with them as a concept. The problem comes from the smarmy reasons that certain organizations are fighting for them.

I am opposed to UNCONSTITUTIONAL voter ID laws. How about the rest of you?
