What position was that?
Immigration?
Only those on the left actually believed that he was talking about something substantially different from 'where he is now', or that he had a chance in hell of accomplishing it, whether or not we thought he was serious or should.
You don't actually believe that building a wall and making Mexico pay for it means building it and sending them a bill that we expect to be paid, do you?
This is what happens to people when they constantly tell people 'what they believe' over their protests.... Maybe what you call his most held dear primary position wasn't really something that many people cared about, other than to stop being so afraid of offending people that you can't admit that there is a problem? IMO< that's the biggest thing Trump brings to the table...
You seriously don't think that a significant portion of Trump supporters fully bought into his wall/Mexico comments? Only leftists believed it? I vigorously disagree.

I think the government should seek to do as little business electronically as possible. Save us from the inevitable EMP attacks that will come and make us sorry.

'What they heard' isn't a flip flop. im sure plenty of far right wingers thought bush would ban abortions, but he didn't come remotely close to doing so... And nobody from either side who knows anything about anything ever believed he would. That doesn't mean there weren't significant portions of the right expecting, and significant portions of the left fearing that he would.
Both extremes could say he flipped, and both would be wrong

No slant or bias here.
First off, this is not an article, it's an opinion piece... i.e. it should be clear that it is an attempt to persuade someone to a particular agenda-driven viewpoint... that is inherently slanted and biased.
