I was at that game with my then 12 yo son, now 12 years a JMU alum.

The JMU section was surrounded by the throng who would run across the aisle to get into the faces of our fans where we sat next to the aisle. It was pretty scary as I shifted my son one more seat away from the altercation, telling him if a brawl breaks out, get down low and cover.

After that heartbreaking loss we walked briskly to our car with me telling him not to say anything to anyone. As we got near the car a couple of guys came up to us and I thought: Oh ****! here we go.
And the first thing out of their mouths was how lucky they were to win and that we had the better team and wishing us a safe ride home. Whew!

The other thing I remember was our band entering the stadium. The band had gathered outside a few blocks away. At some point about 40 minutes before game time, I started to hear our drum line doing their cadence. It gradually got louder and then they led the band in through a very narrow opening where maybe 2 or 3 band members could enter at a time. It took a long long time, with the Marshall folks near us wondering how effin big our band was. Drama like it kept coming and coming, gradually getting bigger and bigger. LOL. Finally they all got in and situated and blasted the fight song, which every JMU fan sung/shouted the words. Gives me chills recalling that moment. (Or maybe its my Neuralgia) Anyway, I love road games and JMU road fans.

The best ever was at Chattanooga when Montana's band played first in that building near the stadium and they thought they were big sh*t. Then our band comes through that narrow hallway and proceeds to blow the roof off the building. My all time favorite MRD moment.
Exactly how I recall it. Was wonderful how their band got to go first all smug like, while we knew what was going to happen when it was our bands turn.

RE: Go To Hell Richmond
I remember the bands in 2008 too. That was one of many highlights that evening.
