Articles like that make me cringe and just sharpen the bullseye on our backs. If we had a championship pedigree, I'd understand. But we still haven't proven ourselves.

At least we didn't receive any votes in either national poll, so there's that.

I'd feel more confident if our defense was a bit tighter.

Most of the press is expecting great things from WMU. Fleck had better deliver this year. It'll be interesting to see if he can turn his recruiting prowess into wins.
The MAC West is very competitive this year, and don;t count out CMU from being in the mix.

Best coach? Developed Talent? What a bunch of crap. Can't wait for us to win the division and contact them with a few choice words.

That's a really bad title for a MAC preview article. WMU has been out-competed in the MAC West for quite a few years. It looks like a neck-and-neck-and-neck race just in the MAC West. There are so many better pictures of PhilJohn Fleck. Calling him the best coach in the MAC is a stretch. Calling him the best recruiter would not be.

I don't think it's crazy to pick the BroncROWS to win the MAC, but it just seems like a lazy article written by somebody with a PJ boner. There will probably be more of these, and probably others that pick against WMU because of PhilJohn.

NIU has the league's best special teams player, the best interceptor in America, the league's leading rusher and a QB who won the MACC. None are mentioned. A head coach who hasn't won a thing is now the best in the league. The Sporting News used to be a premier publication, but this article shows little quality, research and depth. It probably was done in an afternoon.

The MAC's Breakout Player didn't even make it to BG's campus. Great article.

Northern Illinois is a consistent contender? Thats it.

He won a bowl game. It would be nice if Rod could win one. With everything in WMU's favor this year, it would be a shame if they lost to the Huskies again.
