Houston had a good year last year. Congrats. Houston has not shown any staying power whatsoever. Even in the last 5 years (that Houston fans cling to) BYU is 2-0 against them. It doesn't matter what time frame you look at with BYU. Last 5 years. Last 10 years. Last 20 years. Last 50 years. All-time history. BYU ranks high on all the lists. They don't need to cherry pick time frames.

Finally, BYU has a large, rabid fan base when it comes to sports....especially football. BYU can fill a 60,000 seat stadium and would be 3rd in the Big 12 if they joined right now in attendance. Houston would be DEAD LAST. Are you guys going to even draw 60,000 when OU comes to town with OU bringing 40 or 50 thousand of their own fans?

Now other sports? lol. I'll just stop right there.

This is stupid.

In the history of the BCS, when has BYU ever made a BCS bowl? Not 1 time.

You've done nothing, and you rant about "staying power"? You have to actually compete on New Years Day to concern yourself with "staying power."

Trivia question: How many teams have won 13 games twice in the last 5 years?

So you beat Houston under Tony Levine. There was a reason he was fired after 3 years. Levine almost beat BYU.

Who's your coach?

Houston was playing a weaker CUSA schedule for most of that while Cincinnati was BE. The other revenue sport is Basketball, and there is no comparison there. Add in academics, research, endowment and Cincy is clearly better.

History is not really what this is about.

The condition the programs are in now takes precedence.

Tuberville is still Cincinnati's coach. Brian Kelly is not walking through that door. Mark Dantonio is not walking through that door.

Too bad for UC.

ROFLcopter.

You could easily have said the same thing about Houston before 2015. All it takes is one hire and everything changes. I think UC has shown they can do it over and over again. Tuberville is no different than Tony Levine. UC would have no problem attracting the highest level up and coming coach, which they likely will if this season results in another ho hum performance.

Congrats on being on the flow stage of the ebbs and flows of college football, but it doesn't make your program completely superior to the upper levels of the G5. Sorry to burst your inflated bubble, but as a PROGRAM in 2016, UC and UH are in the same tier of upper level G5 football schools. One team or coach won't change that.

Sure you do, it's the only chance of USF becoming relevant.

I've never rooted against a conference mate in a non-conference game. The fact that you plan to is sad.

Just sick of reading your finger diarrhea all the time about Houston being so much better than everyone else in the Confernce. Rant over.

Link?

I talk trash with the Cincy, Memphis, and ECU fans, and we all have a good time. If you don't like my posts, you can ignore them. Your bitterness isn't my problem.

Look, Houston was basically ECU before the politicians got involved. Nobody considered them a legitimate candidate. Yes some good football recently but presidents look at the whole package. Based on merit Houston should not get in. Same with Memphis, not a serious candidate before Fedex got involved. If these schools deserved on merit to get in they would not need the outside influences.

Just because you weren't paying attention doesn't mean nobody was considering them. It was heavily covered in Oklahoma and Texas. An Oklahoma writer (Sittler) implied Boren's #1 choice was Houston last fall. And BTW, its misleading to say Cincinnati was #3. That was the regular season. Final rating was #8 that year.
