He's not going to have a run at WMU at this point in his career that's going to get him any looks.

What makes you say that?

Says you. Jim Larranega cashed in after 14 yrs at George Mason.

IF IF IF he were to, the next 2 years should be his best chance.

Really strong freshman class (by WMU standards), with Wilder, Dugan, and Lamont getting better.

Yup, de-emphasize the money pit and starting feeding MBB!

Agreed. Best Player in conference in Wilder. Two legit bigs with emphasis on Dugan and with a number of talented athletic combo types to pick from who are good by MAC standards.

Just a hunch. Like I said before, I feel like he's an above average MAC coach. He'll win the West a bunch more and probably another Conf championship or 2 but nothing that makes him a candidate for a job worth moving on for.

I think if provided the resources to fit his vision, he would have delivered more than he has even during his tenure. I think Hawkins has shown great personal and professional growth right before our eyes.

My fear is that doogie delivers similar even though he's been provided with more than anyone ever, and we still have his diarrea mouth running at WMU in ten years.

RE: MLive Coverage!!! Oh wait
I think that a huge issue that Hawk is having right now, is getting the funding he needs to compete even within the MAC for recruits who are seeing beautiful practice facilities at other schools... Hawk has been trying for YEARS to gain traction on funds for a 24/7 available facility that the BBall team has at its own disposal... It really is sad that the BBall team has to compete with all the other court sports and even the student body for practice space and time...

He looks down the road and sees PJ getting all the $$$ he needs from year one to start building out his football facilities... I can only imagine how irritated Hawk must have been right off the bat...

Fair enough.

Though I hope you're wrong with regards to Fleck, the thought of him driving you crazy for 10 years makes me chuckle just a little.

No doubt. But let's not forget (pet reports) Fleck played a big role is raising funds for all those renovations.
