yes we are starting to stink up the place again this year. we are evidently not able to recruit very well for volleyball. I wonder how long till that program gets revamped.

GS is 4-4 with no big name wins but I guess that's better than last year so far.

AState responds to getting called out by the coach for poor play and slaughters Central Arkansas in the first game of the stAte Invitational. We play UT-Martin tomorrow and Tulsa on Saturday to finish the tournament. (We cheated and set up the tourney where everyone except for us has to play 2 matches in one day)

UTA loses again to UNLV.

25-15, 25-27, 17-25, 23-25.

Play them again and A&M Corpus Christi tomorrow.

USA beats Marist 3-1 and loses to Florida Gulf Coast 1-3. Next up, Indiana tomorrow.

AState Sweeps UT Martin tonight. Will play Tulsa tomorrow afternoon to finish our tournament.

App State has now lost 6 straight and stands at 2-7. A young squad has lost 4 matches that have gone 5 sets.

UTA drops another 3-1 to UNLV.

When the volleyball team struggles, fall is a really sucky time to be a Maverick.

AState continues to struggle after losing one of our best players to injury. Drops 1st set at home to Tulsa.

Swept at home by Tulsa. Really poor display right now. Not sure what's going on with this team.

GS beat Buffalo 3-2 and Wake Forest 3-1 Friday but fell to South Carolina today 3-2

GS 6-5 overall with losses vs UNC, Penn St, WVU, and SCAR. I think we are much better than last year.

It's certainly disappointing that we are not competitive. since we have fewer sports than some of the others we should be able to focus our efforts more on the ones we have. I was around when uta dominated the rest of the state in volleyball and now the program is practically a perennial bottom dweller. I am surprised that our AD has not made a change to right that ship

Coastal lost to Michigan in straight sets, then beat American in straight sets. The ladies move to 7-2 with only losses to 2 top 25 teams.

Coastal hosts a tournament this weekend with GT (two games) and UNF visiting Conway. GT is 7-2 and just handed unbeaten UGA their first loss.

We've gone 63-34 over the last three years, so I wouldn't call the program a "perennial bottom dweller." Middle of the pack maybe, but not bottom.

As for not making a change, I believe the contract is being ridden out until the end and chances of renewal are low. With the upgrade to College Park Center and the on-campus following we have, UTA should not ever be 3-8 and have a postseason drought of 13 years.
