saw this and thought it was interesting on how much ground the SEC has on Houston compared to the Big 12.

I was just getting ready to post this, i can't believe it hasn't gotten more comments.

Pretty good stuff. You can click on the box in the corner of the national map and actually break each conference down by team and individual player on each roster.

Maps on the bottom show some interesting stuff. Looking at the NCAA map on the bottom 90% of the top recruiting markets are in the eastern half of the country.

Looking at the Big12 map it’s interesting to see how much of their recruiting is done in 3 states.

RE: MAPPING EVERY COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYER’S HOMETOWN
This is a really cool breakdown. I really like the state percentage breakdown. Louisiana accounts for over 3.5% of the FBS athletes yet has no Big 12 presence. Of note, Florida has over 11% and Ohio has over 5.3% and the Big 12 doesn't have a presence in either state. However, Kansas and Iowa have less than 1%, New York, Colorado and Oklahoma have just over 1%, and Texas has just shy of 13.5%.

Very interesting.
