Notre Dame dishes out the punishment...

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly met with the six players who were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend and decided to dismiss senior safety Max Redfield from the program and place senior cornerback Devin Butler on idefinite suspension.

The other four players who were arrested -- sophomore linebacker Te'von Coney, sophomore running back Dexter Williams, redshirt freshman cornerback Ashton White and freshman receiver Kevin Stepherson -- will be disciplined internally, Kelly said in a release Sunday afternoon.

Yep, starting safety Max Redfield (5 star recruit) had been suspended from the Fiesta Bowl for violating team rules. So, this was not his first rodeo.

Plus, he admitted to owning the gun, so he was toast. He had been charged with a felony, which is grounds for immediate dismissal at ND.

His expulsion from school should follow pretty quickly.

The local TV station reported that both Devin Butler and Ashton White are from Maryland suburbs in DC and that White's parent's are police officers.

Sad that you have to do that but when black athletes get in trouble you always get the inner city, poverty, and single parent household discussion regardless if it applies or not.

The two are from a wealthy county and are recipients of Catholic education.
