Public Policy Polling
Public Policy Polling out of North Carolina has surveyed Texans over the years about their favorite college sports teams.

September 2011
November 2013
August 2016

The margin of error is about plus or minus five percent.

Latest Poll
Texas 26%
A&M 16%
Houston 12%
Tech 9%
TCU 6%
Baylor 6%

3 Poll Average
Texas 23%
A&M 18%
Houston 10%
Baylor 8%
Tech 6%
TCU 5%

May help explain why Abbott and Patrick were so hot to trot.

Especially when there is no valid basis for exclusion based on performance:

Since we are throwing out stats, ECU's is 81-44 (65%) against the teams listed above overall and has a winning record versus about all of them. Exceptions are USF, BYU, and UCONN (tied). Have never played Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, and UNLV. Several of the records against the AAC teams are not even close. BTW ECU record versus So Miss (AAC contender) is not close. So, it depends on the stats you use.
