That's what we are all waiting on. Will post links when available. One thing we do know is we will play in there in 2017 with very limited changes and then major work will begin after the 2017 season.

Are you sure a full fb field will fit within the dimensions of the field as is?

I've seen some say yes, some say no, but GSU has already had folks in there inspecting, etc., and I'm sure that is likely one of the things discussed. Prez Becker wants to play there in 2017, so it should happen. Spring game in 2017 will give some indications of the fit before serious structural changes are made I suspect.

I can promise you they would not have made it this public that they are playing there in 2017 if they could not play there in 2017. Becker isnt one of the top 5 highest paid presidents in the country to make moronic decisions.

What an opportunity for a program.

Renderings were posted once before of what was to be done. Limit the major work to the right field side to bring closer tot he field and leave the rest in tacked.

so do you think you'll use the permanent structure as one side of seating and then maybe some temporary bleachers to have seating with good sight lines on the other side?

Definitely an exciting first step for Georgia State. Not just for football, but also for creating a mixed use area around campus that will enhance the entire experience for students.

They play soccer at Busch Stadium in St Louis and that is a larger field than the NFL field.

I only ask because I've seen some renderings that show it fitting and some that have not and would need additional work on the structure to get it in there. I'm sure Panama has seen allot of the same. I think it's a good investment for the school long term. GaSouthern will continue to take great interest in how they navigate the monetary issues.

What's wrong with the Georgia Dome? Isn't it located near GSU and accessible by public transit?

Those stand look awful close to the endzone. Wasn't that the danger at Wigley field? Anyway nice job getting Turner field! I'm a sucker for stadiums so I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Well, it'll be torn down soon, but more importantly, Georgia State is never going to come close to selling a stadium that size out (and I'm not just picking on them, very few G5s would even put a respectable crowd in a stadium that size). It creates a terrible atmosphere for a game, which then discourages people who do go from wanting to come back.

This will be a good thing for Georgia State and I imagine it is serviced by public transit as well.

The official renderings for the renovated Turner Field have not been released.

Those are renderings by a neighborhood group.

I imagine downsizing the Georgia Dome would've been more costlier than to reconstruct Turner Field into a football stadium.

Blank wants the Dome gone completely. No competition for events next door. In any case this will be a boon for us and south downtown.
