I've alway seen it has a hedge against various global instability. Worked out nicely during the housing crash. I had silver from 80's that I paid less than $3 for and sold it for $35. Wife unloaded all her jewelry. So yeah, I'm all for some global chaos lol

RE: Isn't it your money?
A year after I retired Governerd Snyder and the state legislature of the "No New Taxes" party illegally (according to state Constitution) started taxing my state pension, so I lost over $2k a year we had been planning on.

Then he-they (also illegally according to most recent ruling by State Supreme Court) started deducting 3% of my wife's salary for after retirement health care - which we won't need because of mine plus Medicare.

So, yes, it's OUR money - and the Michigan representatives of the "Less taxes" party has taken it away - again, against state law - for last five years.

The 3% tax on teachers, cops, and state employees amounts to over 500 million, and is collecting interest. For my wife and I it's about 14k we're owed. It has gone to court and tge state has lost twice, and they're going to appeal again.

The cops and the state employees had their money refunded when the state lost the first trial. Snyder wants the money, simple as that.

As for our pensions being taxed. Our union is a worthless money laundering operation for the Democratic Party. Tgey do nothing for the rank and file other than collect dues. When you funnel every penny to one side of the isle this is what you get when your party is out of power.

I know a State employee, so I'm familiar with Snyder's blatantly illegal money grab. I don't see how someone so willing to ignore the State constitution can continue to serve as governor... [Looks at legislature and Attorney General]...ah, never mind. 03-banghead
