Thus few. Pretty much everyone did something on their helmets.

Our colors are supposed to be a dsrk navy and light gray. Somehow is changed into the royal blue. Back thrn the dark blue part was right but i dont know where they came up with the red/red orange accent. You notice the red is not like on the louisville unis but more of an orange shade. A small lsu type tiger was on the helmet except for the centenial year. In the 70's unis looked like the dallas cowboys, in the 80's dark navy and gray without the red. Since the 90's it been more consistent with the blue you see now with gray like the 70's. Occassionally silver or white helmets. The royal blue helmets, jerseys and or gray white pants have been pretty standard through the late 90s until now excluding the recent shenanigans, chrome, bengal stripes, blacks and dark grays. Our official colors now are the blue on the m logo plus gray.

Its been a mess, imo, but those were our unis in '69.

You just dont ever see 100 or three digit numbers on jerseys. I never had before i saw this photo.

We were 8-2 that year, lost to utk and miss. Beat florida state and won the game in the photo 69-19

Cool. Louisville didn't put numbers on helmets at that time so I guess they chose the jersey route. Those dudes look like grown men, not kids like today, lol.

Is this the game that Lee Corso threw a white towel onto the field and yelled "I surrender"?

Yep, that was ugly. We had some AWFUL teams for a few years there...and y'all have had some good ones. We need to be playing again.
