Senior LB Jaylen Coleman Out for 2016 Season
Well, he was already suspended the first two games, now he's done for the year with an injury.

Also was reported by our new beat writer that soph. WR Andrew Davis & freshman WR Neru N'Shaka are out for the season with injuries.

Crap. We'll be fine at WR, but need some other folks to step up at LB.

Taafe showed some good play on special teams last season. How's Chris Norwood's recovery going?

The defense makes me a little nervous. Hopefully we have enough talent to step up

Coleman should get an extra year of eligibility. I wonder if he will still have to then serve his two game suspension.

RE: Senior LB Jaylen Coleman Out for 2016 Season
That is a major loss to an already depleted (experience wise) defense. It seems to me that for the past couple of years UT has been relatively fortunate with respect to injuries although there was Coleman last year and of course Hunt has had a few problems.

I have to wonder if the low rate of injuries (assuming it is real and not just my imagination) for the past couple of years was just pure luck and the law of averages is now catching up with the team this year OR was the conditioning and physical training regimen a major factor as well? If so, has there been a change in that aspect of the program that could also be a factor?

Didn't we loose almost every starting DB to injury two or three years ago?

From The Rocket Report: Former Toledo CC linebacker Chris Norwood is still wearing a knee brace. It's going to be up to him in terms of how much effort he wants to to put in to get himself on the field.

It sure seemed like it.

Davis was listed #2 at WR-X. Crap!

I was thinking was 2013 that the secondary took the bad hit, but the more I think about it, I believe it was 2014---oh well, so much that theory

I know one year we had a freshman walk-on starting at corner.

RE: Senior LB Jaylen Coleman Out for 2016 Season
I thought they were blaming a lot of that on practicing on the Glass Bowl field. Campbell then moved the practices to grass to reduce the injuries and that seemed to help a lot. I don't recall if the turf was replaced since then or not. If not, maybe they need to move practices back to the grass field - and get the turf replaced. Have no idea if these latest injuries - all in the legs - was because of turf or some other reason.

GB has a brand new surface. The increase in leg injuries is probably due in part to changes made in attempts to reduce concussions.

Good point Boca. My son's HS team is teaching to tackle by going low, head outside the leg and inside arm/shoulder splitting the legs...I was always taught "low man wins" but that was more about leverage in blocking or getting off a block. It's interesting to see how things have changed. When it came to tackling, I was taught to keep your head up and bury your facemask in the ball carriers chest, wrap your arms and drive your legs. If guys are now being taught to go in low, we're going to see an increase in knee injuries. I'm sure this is being taught to try and reduce concussions...not sure how I feel about it. Anyone who has caught a knee to the side of the helmet can attest that it's just as bad, if not worse than helmet to helmet or helmet to shoulder.

Brauts or Italian Sausage- Peppers n' Onions

Alot of concession dogs are poorly done. Certainly the GB game experience could be enhanced with Hungarian Hot Dogs.02-13-banana
With pickles n' peppers.
