RE: New Article on Big12 expansion. SIR
Did they ever released who that school that said it never contacted the big 12 and never was contacted by them was? My guess would be either Arkansas State or AF.

Air Force in the past turned down the big 12 because they couldn't compete and Arkansas state just don't have the facilities to be in the big 12.

I'd guess AF too

Temple would probably move to an independent schedule in football and move bball and the other Olympic sports back to the A-10 (since nova would never allow them in the big east) before that ever happens. At the point NIU would be added, almost all of the current AAC teams would be gone.

Temple would never go indy, there is no money in it for them.

The AAC would need to lose 3/4 of the teams currently playing for NIU to have any shot of getting in. You think there is money in an AAC at that point?

I keep saying thet NIU is perfectly situated in the MAC with like minded schools.

Not sure what NIU has to do with Temple going indy but ok.... At the the end of the day though going indy would destroy Temple. Temple does not have the history like BYU and therefore would have a very hard time getting TV money. Not to mention Temple would have a hard time getting schools to schedule them as they are not necessarily a very national brand.

Long putt for sure without BYU it's not happening

there continues to be chatter the league may stay with 10 members.
"I think that's possible," said one person closely involved in the process.
Another source at a Big 12 school said expansion at this point is "a long putt."

Temple waited forever to get into an all-sports conference where it could build some true conference rivals. We don't want to go anywhere that splits our teams. I personally don't like the idea of too much football-only/basketball only BS because that's what kills programs not named Notre Dame and conferences not named Notre Dame's current conference.

Give us NIU and Southern Miss and the AAC remnants and a shot at the access bowl and most of us Temple folk will be just fine. This begging crap is undignified.
