Jackson Abresch broke his leg. he was getting number 1 reps with Mayes and Allen at safety we only have 6 safeties on the roster now and 3 are freshmen.

Very thin with allen and mayes as starters and only freshmen to back them up !

Do we move a corner to safety or what ??

Gee, hopefully we can make it to the start of the season.

I think he was out all last year with an injury as well, tough break. Met his parents at the Northwestern game 2 years ago, real nice people.

i think they may shuffle a number of guys around to balance things out. Stingly started as a DB, if I remember correctly. With 16 WR on a team that values the run, I think we could probably re-assign a few.

What about Jimmy Russell? What about Mycial Allen?

mays and allen are starters now with Jackson out jimmy is a walk on and not sure he is ready and the rest are freshman. what receiver most are pretty small to play safety ?

It's stupid how players transfer to get playing time at other schools, and if they had some patience they could play and possibly start based on injuries alone. Lol

i bet they move one of the JUCO guys to safety, Brinson or Embry, just bc they have more playing experience in college as of now

There is really no need to move anyone. There are 3 red shirt freshmen who can step up. Tequan Smith {Fla.} and Trayshon Foster{Ala.} both have a year in the system and were both scholarship players. In addition there is Corey Kenedy {Ill.} a walk on who won a couple of scout player of the week awards last year. As always, next man up, and I like getting these guys some experience under fire. We have time to break them in.

not freaking out just pointing out we are thin at that spot and jackson was in a battle gettin 1 reps with Allen so not just a reserve safety

Maybe Sutton Smith can move back for depth. He started out at RB so has some speed.

Trequon Smith looked good in the scrimmage. I think he was in the hunt for playing time regardless of Abresch's injury.

Condolences to Abresch by the way. It has to be incredibly frustrating for him.

we are not the only team on our schedule that has lost a guy or has to maneuver the players to other positions. All teams have to address these issues.

Very surprised about Buirge though since he's been looking good at WR. He does great tape from high school as a DB though

Yes this certainly qualifies as the not a big deal type of injury. Sucks for him, but it wont really matter in the grand scheme of things.

until allen or mays is hurt and you then start your number 4 safety. anytime a guy who is getting reps as a one goes down it hurts especially if you are this at position
