Playing more games on ESPN, better bowl opponents, and a more prestigious conference would definitely HELP overcome this.

It honestly amazes me that people give us a hard time for taking NQs, but no one bats an eye when it comes to BYU. What they do gives them a much more competitive advantage than us taking NQs. Hell they get special privileges and have 22 year old freshmen due to "religious purposes." That is way more of an advantage if ya ask me.

How is a guy spending a couple of years on a mission, not playing competitive football, advantageous?

There is a HUGE difference in an 18-19 year old Freshmen and a 21-22 year old Freshmen. They are obviously working out and maturing during this time.

Thats a HUGE advantage.

I support their right to do that. Not saying it should be illegal, but thats more of a competitive edge than what we are doing imo.

Are they "obviously" working out when on their mission? They go to some pretty remote locales. I'll take kids who haven't gone two years without playing competitive football personally, I expect most coaches and strength coaches in particular would agree.

We would see an increase of exposure in the AAC, so that would help overcome this. We could always just start bringing in JUCOS like everyone else.

Increase in exposure? No

There is no argument on exposure. We play on some obscure channel I can't even remember the name of.

They play on ESPN.

No comparison.

Academically that would be an easy transition for them.

When you don't have athletics, break out the academic smack. Good luck on winning a conference game this year, or maybe next year.
