So for, UAB has not appeared.

Rice at #139 - considered 5th in CUSA
Marshall at #130 - considered 4th in CUSA
SF Austin at #128 - #3 in Southland conference
Memphis at #90 - #5 in American conference

I may have missed some and will try to update as I see them.

UAB comes in at #89

I'm very thankful for Haase getting us to this point. After Davis' last year we wouldn't have been on this list, truly an awesome coach. Look forward to having Ehsan get us even higher.

Davis actually had UaB rarat/ranked in the top 25. Thank you basketball gods for 89th.


Welp this ranking is based for what Haase did or didnt do. Eshan could easily take this program higher get it back to the levels the Mike Anderson or Mike Davis

You mean the clause that let Cousins follow Davis wherever Davis was shopping that recruiting class to, even though they would have already signed with UAB. Davis had no intention of staying here at that time, eventually he became complacent and lazy in recruiting.

Yep thats it. At that time I didnt see it that way.



Had we gave it to him he couldve been gone earlier (may not been a bad thing). Or we had Cousins and Bledsoe (maybe) and his recruiting wouldn't had slipped on paper we was at a top level with the rest of the guys commited. It fooled Macklin into another year or two. I dont remember any player that year signing early.

Why?

I have no problem with the projection because it is only a projection made by someone having to look at a lot of teams a long way from the start of the season. On paper, we didn't make the NCAA tournament, lost our head coach and leading scorer and have a coach that has never been a head coach and we play in CUSA. I can see how an outsider would give us an #89. MOST of us that are closer to the situation believe that we will do better. Would rather be 89 preseason and end up top 50 than top 50 preseason and end up 89.
